Dust Control

Liquid calcium chloride is used on gravel and dirt to control dust and maintain road quality.  It absorbs and retains moisture from the air to stabilize the area sprayed upon providing a firm surface and therefore preventing road cavities and cloud trails behind vehicles. By using dust control, the air quality is improved and maintenance costs of roadways are reduced.  Treatments are generally effective for six months to one year.

In liquid form, it’s weight is 38% calcium chloride composition and does best in areas with at least 30% humidity.  Calcium chloride can set back or kill vegetation but is not a permanent weed killer.  It’s makeup is similar to that of common table salt and is not toxic.  Treated soil is comparable to that of damp ground and will not cling to shoes or clothing.
