¹ Sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, and calcium chloride do not chemically destroy concrete. Concrete is a porous surface and melted water from the de-icing process may seep into the concrete causing pressure under the surface when it re-freezes. It is recommended that water, snow, and ice be removed from concrete when possible and surfaces be resealed every year to prevent cracking and chipping. Do no use ice melt on concrete or masonry surfaces that are less than one year old.
